L. Tom Moline, aged 75 yrs, passed away at Pocahontas Community Hospital on August 16, 2022.
Tom is survived by his brother John (Gayle) Moline, nephews Jay (Jill) Moline, David (Shelly) Moline, Grant (Jill) Moline, and Brad (Kelly) Moline, many great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.

After high school graduation, Tom took over the family Guernsey herd in addition to helping with the family turkey and farming operation. In 1968, his older brother John joined the operation. Together John and Tom bought the farming operation from their father in 1970 becoming the second generation of brothers to operate Moline Brother Turkey farm.
A dairy heifer backgrounding operation replaced the milk cows in 1978. Hatching egg sales from turkey breeder hens were eliminated in 1988 with the turkey operation moving to the large commercial turkeys for further processing that remains the industry standard today. Tom’s nephew Grant joined the operation in 1999 as crop production manager and his nephew Brad joined in 2001 as brooder manager.
In 2008 Tom moved from the family farm to his own acreage and semi-retired becoming the farm’s #1 ‘gopher’ and part time lawn mower. Tom kept up with those jobs until 60 days prior to his passing. With Tom’s retirement in 2008, Grant and Brad moved into ownership and operational roles becoming the 3rd generation of Moline Brothers to operate the farm.
