Todd Mathisen, age 56, of Cylinder, died on Friday August 28, 2015 at his home. Todd Jeffery Mathisen, the son of Dale and Joanne (Fisher) Mathisen, was born on May 15, 1959 in Audubon, Iowa. He graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1977 and attended Iowa Lakes Community College studying farm management.
On July 21, 1979 Todd was united in marriage with Jana Naig at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Todd farmed and raised cattle in the Cylinder area. He was a member of the Palo Alto County Cattlemen, Palo Alto County Extension Council and Cylinder Lion’s Club.
He enjoyed his involvement with the Little E’Hawk wrestling club and broadcasting E’Hawk football games. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Jana; sons, Brent (Krista) Mathisen and their children, Emerson and Cooper from Urbandale, Tom (Jessica) Mathisen and their children, Madelyn, Hadley and Ella from Urbandale, and Jordan Mathisen from Emmetsburg, his mother Joanne Mathisen from Emmetsburg, his sister, Deb (Chuck) Hite of Cylinder, his niece Shanda Walker and her daughter Maddie from Grimes, and his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Marilyn Naig from Emmetsburg.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dale Mathisen, his brother and his sister-in-law, Tracy and Diane Mathisen, Grandparents, Walt and Mildred “Snap” Fisher and Matt and Margaret Mathisen.
