Tim, 43, of Nampa, Idaho, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, in a dirt bike accident at Pickle Butte Recreation Center.

Tim was born and raised in Paso Robles, California and moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1992 on his 25th birthday. He married and had 3 children. Tim was a millwright by trade and worked on oil rigs and structural construction projects.  In 2001, Tim was consulted for an Albertsons expansion in Fresno, California. His out-of-the box thinking raised the roof in place & knocked down the existing wall, even as customers continued shopping.

In Fresno, he met Sherrie Eidsness and began the next chapter in his life. Tim and Sherrie had 2 children.  Although Sherrie had Tim’s love, his heart longed for Idaho. In June 2011, Tim first returned to Nampa, Idaho for a project with Snelson Companies and sent for his family in August.  Tim and Sherrie planned to raise their children in Idaho.

Tim died extremely happy. He had ridden dirt bikes since junior high as a boy. He had begun reconnecting with his loved ones and friends in Idaho. Tim had already broken in his fishing license and looked forward to hunting season.

Tim believed in God, family, kids first, hard work, a man’s word & a handshake, the Constitution and personal responsibility.  He enjoyed all outdoors, water, fishing, hunting, camping, growing a garden, NHRA drag racing and NASCAR. To wind down, Tim loved soft lights, jazz and country music, and running water.  He planned to buy mountain property and build his retirement home.

Tim was extremely wise and knowledgeable. Tim was very proud that although he didn’t complete high school, he was self-taught and was sought out and respected for his skills.  He was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. His home hall was the Local 701 out of Fresno, CA.  Tim had a travelers book which allowed him to work on projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Tim will be missed terribly, but his name will live on with the projects he built and his heart and spirit will be reflected in all the lives he touched and in the wisdom he shared.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, George Butters, Sr. and by his step-father, Domingo Aivles.

He is survived by his children, Ashley Butters of Ontario, Oregon; Emilee and Austin Butters of Caldwell; his wife, Sherrie Eidsness of Nampa; their children, Ava and Logan Butters of Nampa; his step-children, Daniel, Bethany and Trinity Eidsness of Clovis, CA.

He is also survived by his mother, Jean Aivles; his brothers George, Gary and Todd Butters; step-brothers Julian and Marcos Aivles; step-sister Maria Aivles, all of Idaho; and step-sister Mary Aivles of Nebraska.
