Thornton1973~2021Timothy Martin Thornton, 48, of Wallingford, PA passed away suddenly on December 19 while mountain biking with friends. Born in Washington D.C. in 1973, Tim is survived by his wife Yuni, son Alexander (14), and daughter Vivienne (11), as well as his father John Martin Thornton, mother Patricia Thornton and stepfather Douglas Meyer, all of State College, PA, and sister Jessica Reilly of Medfield, MA, along with many other relatives and friends in the US, South Korea, and around the world. Anyone who knew Tim knew that he loved his family, hard work, new experiences, and fun. He graduated from State College Area Senior High School, lived in Seattle for a few years, and then returned to State College to graduate from Penn State. After working in the hospitality industry, Tim took a position as an English Teacher in Seoul, South Korea. He met Yuni Chung at the airport who, unbeknownst to him, would soon become the love of his life, true partner, and wife in 2003. Tim earned his MBA at the Fox School of Business at Temple University and began his tenure at Vanguard that same year. When Tim was not at work, he loved to travel and cook with his family, mountain bike with Alex, support Viv’s love of ice skating, coach with Liberty Youth Cycling, and take on any adventures that his family wanted to try together.
