Timothy “T.J.” Jay Powell, 33, of Newnan passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He was born March 27, 1981 in Riverdale, GA to David Brent Powell & Elaine Williams Powell. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Chris McCullough Williams and his paternal grandfather, Jay Ernest Powell. T.J. was a 1997 honor graduate of East Coweta High School and he attended the University of West Georgia on a presidential scholarship, graduating in 2005. He was a talented graphic designer and put his extensive artistic skills to use at his career with ValuTeachers over the past seven years. Survivors include father, David Brent Powell; mother, Elaine Powell Greer & husband Bobby; grandmother, Thelma Frances Powell; grandfather, Charles Albert Williams, Sr.; brothers, Jonathan Greer, Hudson Greer; former wife & friend, Alison Morgan; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
