Alex left us all with a challenge, having lived his life with less than 5% of his brain stem following his diagnoses with bacterial meningitis when he was 10-days old. Aside from outliving his original prognosis of living a maximum of 3 months he accomplished remarkable things. He was the world’s best listener, provided wise advice without saying a word, held no grudges, appreciated every kindness done for him and never begrudged another for the blessings of God in their life. Tater was a bit of a prankster, “hide my favorite stuffed tater tot from my ICU nurse” always got a laugh. As well as great person, Tater loved Johnny Cash music (Folsom Prison Blues being his favorite). Alex knew his immediate family despite his doctors warning us he would never understand who we were. He resides in Heaven now and is completely whole. Next time you think you are not smart enough, good enough, capable enough remember Alex and think again.
