Upland: Timothy A. Rice, 56, passed away, after an extended illness in his home, surrounded by family.
He was born in Marion, the son of the late Edward and Martha (Pulley) Rice. He graduated from Marion High School in 1974. He married Ginny Walz on July 10, 1987, in Kentucky.
She survives. Tim worked for the Grant County Highway Department, the town of Upland from 1991 -1996, and was the owner of T.O.P.P.I.T. Pizza, Upland, from 2003-2011. In 2004, he retired from the Upland Volunteer Fire Department. He attended Grace Community Church, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Martha’ one son, Kregg (Jennifer) McGriff, Upland; one daughter, Kristi (Scott) Waschitz, Webster, New York; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don Mary Walz, Upland; three brothers, Ed (Belle) Rice, Muncie, Jim ( Linda) Rice, North Carolina, and Michael Melissa) Rice, Ft. Wayne; three sisters, Carol (John) Copeland, Indianapolis, Patti (Murray) Boland, Indianapolis, and Brenda Rice, Indianapolis; and four grandchildren, Brittany Drake-McGriff, Kameron McGriff, Karlee McGriff, and Timmy Waschitz.
