Tilmon G. Pratt, 98, of Ottawa, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Ottawa Regional Hospital & Healthcare Center. Tilmon was born November 10, 1912, in Hollendale, Mississippi to Sam and Myrtle (Gordon) Pratt. He was a Navy veteran of WWII.
He married Rebecca Matthews on January 16, 1953, in Ottawa. He was a resident of Ottawa for over 60 years. He was employed by GE Plastics for many years and retired in 1978. He was a member and a deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Ottawa.
Tilmon leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Rebecca Pratt; one daughter, Margaret (Lars) Pruitte of Joliet; four sons, Larry (Melissa) Pratt, and Roger (Marg Hiller) Pratt both of Ottawa, and Jerry (Josie Rodriguez) Pratt and Gregory (Karla Schmitz) Pratt both of Streator; nine grandkids, Lars, Jr., Tyese, Tawayna, Marlin Pruitte, Danielle, Shania, Larry Jr., Travis, and Jill Pratt; nine great- grandkids; two sisters, Lorene Taylor and Anna Bilia both of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Albert Pratt of Greenville, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tilmon “Charles” Pratt; six sisters, and four brothers.
