Tillman Carroll “Tim” Fudge, Jr., 72, of East Palatka, passed from this life on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at home in the arms of his family. Born in Port St. Joe, Florida, Tim was raised in Palatka and graduated from Palatka High School in 1966. Following high school, he served with the 10th Special Forces Group in Thailand during the Vietnam War where he met his wife, Prasong. He continued his service in the Florida National Guard until 1985.
In October of 1972, Tim began a career with Florida Power & Light Corp. where he worked for 40 years until his retirement in August 2012 as an instrument control mechanic. Tim was a member of Palatka Masonic Lodge #34 F&AM, The Morocco Temple, the Putnam County Shrine Club, and the Palatka York Rite Bodies. He was also a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Palatka. In his spare time, Tim enjoyed woodworking and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed serving others.
The Green Berets are known as the quiet professionals because they work in secret, unnoticed and unrecognized. He exemplified this throughout his life in service to others never seeking recognition, never complaining, but adapting to finish the task at hand. There was no challenge that he would turn away from or problem that he would not try to solve.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tillman C. Fudge, Sr., and Florine Johnson Fudge Knighton.
Tim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Prasong Fudge of East Palatka, a son, Jason Fudge (Siri) of Tallahassee, and 4 grandchildren, Faith Fudge, Hope Fudge, James Fudge, and Samuel Fudge.
