Tifton F. Wilson, 85, Anderson, died October 6, 2003 at Community Northview, Anderson due to failing health. He was born July 21, 1918 in Derosett, Tennessee, and resided in Alexandria. He was a resident of this area since 1950. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1980 after 30 years of service.
He served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post #266 in Anderson, was a member of and past commander for the American Legion Post #127, Madison County Voiture #510 40 & 8, Fraternal Order of the Eagles #174 and the UAW Local #663. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Tankersley of Tifton, Georgia; grandchildren, Mark & wife Rita Hall and sons Michael and David, Barry & wife Brenda and their children Rachel and Garrett and Jason Tankersley; brother, Kelly & wife Lynn Wilson; sisters, Mary Hensell and Jannie & husband Joe Ellis; many, many nieces, nephews and special friends.
He was preceded by his wife, Catharine Dunham Wilson on October 5, 1995; parents, Robert & Carrie Lewis Wilson; siblings, Herman Wilson, Dallas Wilson and Bessie Green and a son, David Ray Wilson.
