Thomas William Shackelford, 72, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.Thomas was born September 21, 1948 in Akron, OH.
He spent his career making surgical instruments and retired in 2010. He enjoyed fixing up old cars, playing guitar, and songwriting. He performed with countless bands over the years, playing at local venues well into his sixties.
He had a love of art from his youth into adulthood that included painting, pencil drawing, and portraits that earned him several awards. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Alan and Dollie June Shackelford (nee Huff) and his beloved wife Sheila Shackelford (nee Adger).
Surviving is his son, Thomas (Beth) Shackelford of O’Fallon, IL; and grandchildren, Elliott Shackelford and Brooklynn Shackelford.
