RALEIGH-Thomas Wayne “Tom” Cooper, 44, passed peacefully at home with his family after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. He bravely withstood the treatments never complaining and always responding with “I’m alright”.
Tom was born in Wake County to Joyce Holder Cooper and the late Andrew Jackson “June” Cooper, Jr. Tom is survived by his loving and faithful wife LuAnne Cash Cooper of twelve wonderful years. In every challenge he faced, she was always beside him in caring support.
Grateful to have had him in their lives are brother Steve Cooper and wife Susan of Raleigh, sister Linda Cooper Cooley and husband Chris of Charlotte, brother-in-law and wife Richard and Kelly Cash of Louisburg, father and mother-in-law Rich and Patsy Cash of Louisburg, grandmother Pattie “MaMa” Cash of Louisburg, nephews Joshua Cooper and wife Nikki, Nicholas and Benjamin Cooley, Richard Cash IV, and niece Carey Cooper Forsythe and husband Brent, aunts and uncles Jim and Judy Bishop of Raleigh, Mary Lee Cooper of Garner, Ruther Cooper Ballard of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Charles and Linda Jones of Cape Coral Florida, many cousins, treasured friends and colleagues.
Tom enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He will be remembered for his sweet smile, humor, kindness and generosity toward others, and his love for animals.
