Thomas “Tommy” Franklin Blythe, 74, of Burlington died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 12:55 AM surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Alamance County he was the husband of Peggy Cardwell Blythe, who survives, and the son of Charles Ewart Blythe and Edna Ingle Blythe, both deceased. Tommy retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco Company. He was a member of McLeansville Baptist Church. Tommy was an avid hunter and fisherman, who won numerous fishing tournaments and was a member of the Guilford Bow Hunters Club and Mountain Fork Bow Hunters Club. He enjoyed nature and working in his yard.

In addition to his wife Peggy, of the home, he is survived by his daughter, Teresa Blythe Morton and husband Boyce of Burlington; a brother, David Blythe and wife Margaret of High Rock, NC; two sisters, Sandra Whitesell and husband Cecil of Elon and Lynn Blythe of Haw River; three grandchildren, Hannah Hall Ludwig and husband Todd, Emily Brooke Hall, and Brandon Morton; and a great grandson, Hayden Hall.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Blythe Hall and a brother, Darryl Blythe.
