Thomas “Tom” Garald Britt, 84, of Asheboro, died Monday, October 24, 2022 at his residence.
Tom was a native of Moore County and a longtime resident of Randolph County. He started his career in textiles at Ramtex where he worked until 1980, when he started his own business, Britt’s Laundry. Tom was a man that believed in working hard to support his family and passed that virtue on to his children and grandchildren. He attended Ramseur Wesleyan Church and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather as well as great-great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mozelle Kearns Britt, sister, Rebecca Dunn, brother Jackie Britt, and son-in-law, Buster Leonard.
Survivors: wife of 66 years, Peggy Williams Britt, of the home, daughters, Freda Leonard, of Franklinville, Vada Bullard, of Asheboro, Elizabeth Poole, and husband, Randy, of Salisbury, son, Rick Britt and wife, Sam, of Asheboro, sister, Deborah Wansley, and husband, Jimmy, of Asheboro, brother, Joseph Britt, of Troy, eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
