On May 21, 1960, Tom was united in marriage with Karen Jo Patterson at the Minneapolis Gospel Tabernacle. The couple made their home in Minneapolis, Apple Valley and Burnsville before moving to Clarion, Iowa in June 2019. Tom loved his family and loved celebrating special days with his kids and grandkids. Tom enjoyed special outings, staying close to home, and enjoying the beauty of Minnesota. He and Karen had an annual anniversary trip to Lake City on the banks of Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River.
Tom was an accountant for Twin City Federal and Northland Mortgage Company.
Tom was a member of Mount Olivet Assembly of God in Apple Valley, MN for 47 years, where he served as an usher and greeter. Tom liked playing golf –he rarely missed getting 9 holes in a day! He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Teams (Vikings ~ Twins ~ Gophers), bowling, watching politics on T.V. and reading up on the latest sports news.
Tom passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove at the age of 83 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Lentz, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Karen Jo Lentz of Clarion; son, Steve Lentz (Camille) of Eagle Grove; four grandchildren: Jason Lentz of Minneapolis, MN, Rachel Lentz and her children: Isaak, Sofia, and Eva of Eagle Grove, Sarah Lentz of San Diego, CA, and Nicolas Lentz of Eagle Grove
