Thomas S. Nachilo, 67, of Rocky Hill, CT, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Hartford Hospital as a result of pneumonia.

Tom was born in Bridgeport, CT to Stanley Nachilo and Genevieve Prokoski-Nachilo on December 12, 1947 and graduated Central High School in 1964. He had a love for aircraft and began studying at the University of Bridgeport in the hopes of pursuing a career in aeronautical engineering. Shortly after, compelled by a desire to serve his country, he left college in 1967 to serve as a paratrooper in the101st Airborne during the war in Vietnam, with hopes of becoming a green beret. Tom served honorably there but, after being wounded, returned home. Those closest to him during the years after his return describe him as an exceedingly smart, gracious and charming man.

Besides his loving parents, Stanley and Genevieve, Tom is survived by his “sister-belle” Elizabeth (Betty) Burdo and nephew Brian Burdo.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Jozif and Emalia-Labienec Nachilo and Franciek and Rosalia–Madrak Prokocki.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the nurses, doctors and staff from all the medical facilities Thomas lived in through the years. Their care and treatment of Thomas will always be appreciated.
