Thomas Scott Lee had a great heart. He passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 11, 2017 at the age of 58. Tommy had a humble and compassionate soul that exuded love. We will miss his positive outlook and constant sense of humor, which endeared him to so many.
Tom was born in Kalamazoo, the son of Donald and Doris (Bolter) Lee. He graduated from Loy Norrix High School in 1977 and received his Bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University. Recently retired, Tom was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. In his early years, he enjoyed working with friends at Jewel Foods in the produce department and Bonanza Steakhouse.
Tom was a longtime, active member of The River Church where he found much inspiration, faith, and friends. He enjoyed cultivating his garden, restoring his 1966 Mustang, and adored his cat, Grey, and dog, Shadow. Family was the most important part of Tom’s life. He was faithfully dedicated to helping care for his mother. This spring, he happily married the love of his life, Gina M. (Iervolina) Lee.
Tom will be greatly missed by his wife, Gina M. (Iervolina) Lee; his mother Doris L. Lee; brothers and sisters Ronald E. Lee, Mary Ann (Dr. Patrick) Feehan, Ruth E. Lee, Carol L. (Kirk) Anderson, Terry R. (Robin) Lee, Timothy D. (Cindy) Lee, Susan K. (John) Marietta, Barbara J. (Dr. Terrence) Longe, William “Ted” (Laura) Lee; three stepchildren Mandy Benthin, Taylor Lang and Connor Lang; his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his father Donald N. Lee, Sr.; by two brothers Donald N. Lee, Jr. and Dr. James H. Lee and by sister-in-laws Donnie Kay Lee and Becky Lee.
