SALEM – Thomas S. Loomis, age 74, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. He was born September 16, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Arthur J. and Helen D. (Brodzinski) Loomis.

Thomas attended St. Edwards High School in Lakewood and was previously employed at Salem Label Co. and Salem Giant Eagle. He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church.

His wife, Janet Loomis, whom he married March 8, 1965, preceded him in death March 8, 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Timothy B. (Terri) Loomis stationed at JBLM (Joint Base Lewis-McChord) and living in Lacey, WA and Matthew T. Loomis of Salem; two daughters, Donna M. (Craig) Springer and Stephanie A. (Jeffery) Stiffler, both of Salem; two brothers, Arthur Loomis of Cleveland and Larry Loomis of Columbus and six grandchildren, Jessica DuRoss, Emma Stiffler, Doug Stiffler, Jack Stiffler, Christopher Loomis and Stephen Loomis; one step grandchild and two great grandchildren.

A brother, Richard Loomis and a sister, Dorothy Loomis also preceded him in death.
