Thomas Scott Billings (1954-2020)

Born September 20, 1954 to James Austin and Genevieve Lorraine Parker Billings in Washington, D.C., Tom spent his childhood in Lanham, Maryland and attended DuVal High School.

After high school, Tom enlisted in the Army and served in the United States as well as in Germany as an intelligence analyst.  Following his service, Tom traveled widely across Europe for an extended period before returning home.

It was in the Army that Tom discovered and developed a passion for computers, coding and gaming, which led to a long and varied career in designing procurement supply and inventory systems.  For the past nearly 15 years, Tom worked for a marine service and supply company near Pensacola, Florida.

Tom passed away after a short but courageous fight with lung disease in Fairfax Inova Hospital on December 11, 2020.  Tom was predeceased by his parents, brother Richard Billings and sister Victoria Knight.

He is survived by his sister Sharon (Charles) Franzén of Westminster, Md.; brother Alan (Diane) Billings of Prince Frederick, Md.; Nephews Matthew, Tobias and Thaddeus Franzén; and James (Melissa) Billings; niece Tara (Travis) McLane; great nephews Jacob and Richard Billings; and great nieces Catherine Billings, and Aubrey and Abigail McLane. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Rebecca (Chris) Dugan, whom he loved as a daughter, and her children Samantha (and son, Liam), Britney and Travis Gorby, and Victoria Marszalek.
