Thomas Robert Mather,88, of Glen Burnie, passed away on November 10, 2021. He was born in Baltimore, to the late Elwood and Edna Mather. Thomas honorably served his country in the United States Navy, with the U.S. Naval Construction Battalion “Seabees.” Tom was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Agnes, for 68 years, and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Tom worked for Safeway Distribution Center in Landover, MD as the Truck Repair Operations Manager. During his career at Safeway he served on the American Trucking Assoc. Committee in Washington, DC. After his time with Safeway, Tom opened a MAACO Automotive franchise in Baltimore, which he owned and operated with his son for 18 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Elwood, Earl, David, Claire Mather and Carolyn Edwards.
Thomas is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Agnes J. Mather; loving children, Robert T. Mather and wife Sheila, Kathleen Fabian and husband Bob; sisters Margaret Einolf, Josephine Lang and Sharlene Wiebking; cherished grandchildren, Julia Moon, Philip Fabian and wife Lauren, Jennifer Skacan and husband Cody and Seth R. Mather; beloved great-grandchildren, Colin and Noah Moon, Claire and Alison Fabian, Theodore and Tyler Skacan, and Kane Mather. He is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and loving friends.
