Thomas “Tom” Richard Daily, 83, of Vint Hill, VA, cast his eyes upon his adoring family for the last time on August 17, 2024, in Manassas, VA, as he found the desperately deserved peace from his battle with congestive heart failure. Tom was surrounded by his admiring children, their loving spouses, and his beloved wife of 58 years, Anne. His head cradled in her arms, as she gently stroked his face, Tom shut his eyes and took his final breath to her soothing and encouraging words. Tom was born in Philadelphia on February 24, 1941, the only child of John and Alice Daily (nee Waxman). Tom’s childhood was a classic 20th century American story of a young boy growing up post-world War II in a blended Irish Catholic and Russian Jewish family.
