Thomas R. Ortolano, Sr. Thomas R. Ortolano, Sr., 72, of Bethlehem, went to be with his Lord, Friday, February 25, 2011. He was at home, surrounded by his loving family who cared for him during his recent illness. Born in New Orleans, LA, he was the son of the late Russell and Anna (Pisciotta) Ortolano. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School, Loyola University both in New Orleans, Louisiana State in Baton Rouge where he received his PhD, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, for Post Doctorial Research Fellowship. Thomas served in the US Army and Reserves after high school. He was a Chemistry Professor at Lehigh University for 7 years and later a Guidance Counselor at Bethlehem Area Vo-Tech School for 29 years retiring in 2001. Thomas was a member of Life in Christ Church in Bethlehem and served as Elder for 20 years, was Head of Mens Ministry and a Bible Teacher. He enjoyed hiking, reading Gods Word, and was a New Orleans Saints and LSU football fan. Survivors: his loving family include his wife of over 49 years, June S. (Stauffer) Ortolano; daughters, Eloise Fuhrman, her husband Dennis and their children Steven and Melissa of Catasauqua, Theresa A. Siegfried and her husband Paul of Bethlehem, and Christina Sumner, her husband Jamie and their children Elijah, Noah and Ella of Northampton; son, Thomas R. Ortolano, Jr., his wife Beth and their daughters Danielle and Alexis of Bethlehem; brother, Alexander Ortolano of Atlanta, GA.
