Thomas R. Horton, 70

Troy Thomas R. Horton, 70, of Heyden Road, died Wednesday December 26, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital Troy, after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Thomas R. Horton Sr. and Mary Purcell Horton and husband for 46 years of Patricia A. Hennessey Horton. He had resided in Troy area all his life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School.

Mr. Horton was employed at the Watervliet Arsenal for 43 years beginning as a Bin Warehouseman and retiring in 1994 as Director of Product Assurance and Testing.

He was former Vice President, Recruitment Director and Executive Board Member of the Federal Managers Association, Chapter 88. His management skills were honed by the State University of New York, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of Tennessee. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy; a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Troy Lodge of Elks and a Navy veteran of Korean War.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter Debra A. Koumjian and husband James of Troy; three grandchildren Josh, Kurt and Tyler Koumjian all of Troy and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth West and a brother John P. Horton.
