Thomas P. Fernandes, Jr., age 83, of Carver, went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2018 at Plymouth Harborside Healthcare. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Anita L. (Robbins) Fernandes of Carver. He was the cherished Father of Thomas Fernandes and his wife Sherry of New Jersey, Robert Fernandes of Peabody, Ronald Fernandes and his wife Marsha of Carver, Susan Baribeault and her husband Gary of New Hampshire, Wendy Saunders and her husband David of Carver, and the late Joseph Fernandes. He was the adored grandfather of Joshua Baribeault of New Hampshire and Naomi Fernandes of California. He was the brother of Alice Centeio of Carver, Irene Gomes of Plymouth and the late May Gonsalves, Arthur and Richard Fernandes.Thomas was born on March 28, 1935 in Plymouth to Thomas P. and Sadie (Gouveia) Fernandes. He graduated from Plymouth schools. He honorably served for six years in the United States Air Force as an Air Craft Electrician. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and the American Legion Post 0164 of Carver. He enjoyed duck carving and photography. For six years Thomas and his daughter Wendy ran the Camera Club for Two. Thomas will be remembered for always having a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He will be dearly missed.
