He is survived by his siblings, Pat Day, Diane (Jack) Geick, Debi (Mike) Johnson, Teri Day, Bill Day, Mary (Mike) Oyer, and John (Chris Dees) Day; three nieces; five nephews; one grand-niece; and two grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and sister, Ann Day.
Tom was a superb mechanic in every respect. He could machine any part he needed or wanted from raw materials. He created his own machine shop in his basement, that rivaled many commercial shops. He made his own Civil War and Revolutionary War cannons to various scales, which won several competitions for accuracy.
Tom worked for several businesses including GFE, as a Fire Truck repair engineer, National Wheel-O-Vator, and Metamora School District, prior to his retirement.
