Thomas Milsap, 92, formerly of Buffalo, Briarcliff, Northport, Orchard Park, and South Salem, New York, as well as New Bern, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, at Viera Hospital after a fall which exacerbated issues likely related to lung cancer.

Tom was born February 10, 1928 in Buffalo, New York to Harry V. and Mildred M. (Klink) Milsap.

Initially Tom worked as a high school English teacher, but with the birth of their first child, Mark Thomas, he was determined to make a better living and found opportunity in a management training program with Bell Telephone. Tom steadily moved up the corporate ladder at ATT taking on more responsibility and requiring the family to move several times over the course of his 34-year career. Along the way, he and June grew their family, and his daughter Pamela Ann was born. Over the years the family enjoyed some camping, vacationing in NY and Canada, and picnics in Tom’s award winning, meticulously manicured backyards. Also, Tom was active with the Boy Scouts, learned to play golf and sail.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Milsap (Robert Paul-RP) Higgins of Rockledge FL, and daughter-in-law, Sandra Denike Milsap of Bethel CT; grandchildren, Matthew Edward (Amanda Cambra) Milsap of Bethel CT, Michael Thomas (fiancé Alexa Griffin) Milsap of Ridgefield CT, Lucas Paul (Emily Anne Kennedy) Higgins of Rockledge FL, and Dana Vallett (fiancé Zach Mills) Higgins of Knoxville TN. Tom has two great-grandchildren, Brewer Paul, and Kennedy June by Lucas and Emily Anne Higgins.

Tom lived a very full and active life. He will be remembered for many things, but especially his dry humor, even temperament, kind heart, and devotion to family.
