Thomas McCague, Sr., 89, of Ottawa, died on Friday night, August 24, 2018 at his home.
Thomas was born on November 17, 1928 son of Thomas and Nellie McCague. He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School class of 1947.
Thomas was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Signal Corps in Korea from 1952 to 1953. He married Dorothy Metzler on March 10, 1952 in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Thomas was a mechanic for Northern Illinois Gas for 26 years. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa.
He is survived by 4 children, Thomas O. (Brenda) McCague, Jr., of Ottawa, Lorraine (Mike) Martin, of Marion, IL, Timothy (Abby) McCague, of Ottawa, and Jeffrey McCague, of Homer Glen, 9 grandchildren, Brenda McCague, Kimberly Deck, Thomas (Jennifer) McCague III, Shaun McCague, Rachel McCague, Anthony (Amy Lynn) Summers, Brittany Summers, Josh Comer, and Joseph McCague, and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dorothy, on August 23, 2014.
