He was born March 18, 1917 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Joseph and Rosemarie Most.  As many young men were forced to do in the depths of the Depression, he left home at the age of 17 in search of work. His travels took him across the United States and he spent time in the Southwest, California and eventually the Pacific Northwest.  In 1940, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.

After his discharge in 1945, he worked in the packing industry in Oregon and Idaho.  While working the fruit harvest in Emmett in 1945, he met and married the love of his life, Beatrice Hansen.

In 1946 Tommy, as he was affectionately known to friends and coworkers, began a career as a chef and restaurateur that would continue for 68 years.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Paula) Most of Carbondale, Illinois, Michelle Davis of Milwaukie, Oregon and Marshall (Claudia) Most of Meridian; grandchildren Christie (Chris) Walker of Vancouver, Washington and Justin Woolf of Portland, Oregon; great-grandsons Andrew, Nathan and Benjamin Walker; and many, many friends. The family wishes to thank everyone who has offered their love and support, especially Chris Wing and Tommy’s niece Pauline Wutherich.
