Thomas “Mike” Michael Ware, age 74, journeyed to his after life from the Neilson Place Nursing Home in Bemidji, Minnesota on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021.

Mike was born to Mabel (Erickson) and Jesse Ware on September 9th, 1947, in Aitkin, MN.  He lived and schooled in Aitkin with his family before moving to Bemidji, MN.  Mike graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Biology from Bemidji State University.  Mike enlisted in the United States Army in 1967 and spent the next two years as a “Sky Soldier” with the 173rd Airborne Rangers Brigade in the Republic of Vietnam.  After his discharge, Mike served four years with the Army Reserves as well as trying his hand at construction, as a wildfire fire fighter, a member of the Incident Management Team and as a counselor for the Gillfian Center.  Mike’s passion was as an Aquatic Biologist, working in the Leech Lake, Mille Lacs and Sisseton areas for over 25 years.

When Mike wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cribbage.  He loved the outdoors, feeding his birds, bough picking and was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan until his last days.

Family that Mike is reunited with are his wives; Laura and Ruby, parents; Mabel and Jesse and his stepchildren; Dawn “Bebe” Wind and Jim Harrison.

He leaves behind his sons; Jesse Ware of Minneapolis and Donnie (Tina) Harrison, Sr. of Cass Lake, daughter; Tonya (Terry) Losh of Cass Lake, sisters; Patricia (Doug), Ann (Jerry) and Nancy, 26 grandchildren and too many great grandchildren to count.
