Thomas Michael Higgins of Garnet Valley passed away peacefully on December 11, completed an accomplished career as a professional engineering manager at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Starting at the age of 17 he honorably served our country for 41 years in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War and in the Persian Gulf War. He retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve Component at the rank of Senior Chief Petty of the late John and Marie Higgins, brother of the late Jack Higgins.Survivors: devoted husband of Dolores (nee Hobdell). Cherished father of Christopher (Karen) Higgins, Sharon (the late Thomas F. Lee, Jr.) Lee. Grandfather of Jessica Higgins, Samantha Lee, and Ryan Lee. Great grandfather of Grayson Lee. Brother of Rick Higgins.
