Thomas L. Matley 80, resident of Deming passed away at Mountain View Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, Monday February 20, 2017. Thomas Leroy Matley was born to Raymond Hone Matley and Ann Matilda Hartshorn August 21, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Soon after high school Thomas went into the Trucking Industry where he worked for 47 years. He began as a loader, then to driving and eventually became supervisor. He met his loving wife Evelyn Johanson and has been married for 32 years. Tom had many hobbies including playing and watching golf, and he enjoyed playing tennis in his youth. He also liked watching professional football. Tom loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all very dearly.
Tom is survived by his wife Evelyn Matley, sons; Anthony wife Kate Matley of Chandler, AZ., Paul and Lucy Mace of Sugarland, TX., daughters; Tammy and Tony Vega of Sandy, UT., Robyn and Jeff Mulcahy Sandy UT., Monica Wallace, Michelle and Shannon Jerram of Port Charlotte, Fla.
Tom has many friends in both Deming and the Salt Lake Area, he will be greatly missed by all of them.
