RISHEL, Mr. Thomas L. Vicksburg, MI died Friday afternoon January 3, 2014 at his residence. Thomas was born June 6, 1935 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Leon and Hazel Selner Rishel. He had been a lifelong Vicksburg area resident and was employed with the Kalamazoo County Road Commission for 25 years before retiring.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; infant twins; and 9 siblings, Maxine Rishel, Shirley Mesick, Betty Sheely, Wilma Delbridge, Patricia Rishel, Benjamin Rishel, Geneva Alger, Beverly Alger, Harry Alger-Dalton and adopted brother Howard Carnes. On December 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Ester R. Cowley Rishel who survives.
Also surviving, 3 daughters, Tina Coville of Portage, Tammy Rishel of Kalamazoo, and Nettie Larry Overloop of Portage; a godson, Ronnie Miller of Vicksburg; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edmund Rishel of Marcellus Roger Barb Rishel of Three Rivers; 3 sisters, Linda Garrett Miller of Three Rivers, Jeanette Wes Crawford of Vicksburg, and Diane Bob Grice of Three Rivers; many nieces and nephews; cousin, Larry LaVonne Hiles of White Pigeon; and several other cousins.
