Thomas L. King, 73, died Tuesday Jan.7, 2014 in Southport. He was a resident of Southport.
He was born August 5.1940 in New Castle, Indiana. He married Marjorie Schaefer on Dec. 10, 1957, they were married for 56 years.
Tom was employed with Indianapolis Star in the composing room for 42 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed doing family genealogy. He taught Sunday school at Suburban Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie (Schaefer) King , four children, Lisa (Pat) Smith, Debra Maudal, Richard (Marci) King and Timothy (Cindy) King, a brother, Charles (Nina) King, seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Julie, Jessica, Shannon, Susan and Gregg and five great-grandchildren, Christian, Macy,Tyrie, Kaleb and Kolby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Mary Katherine (Burkhardt) King and a sister, Doris King.
