Thomas J. Molloy, 80, a resident of Meriden for 13 years, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 after a brief illness at the Masonicare Home in Wallingford. Born on February 22, 1931 in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late James and Ruth Scott Molloy. He was the husband of the late Lorraine Allen Molloy for 42 years.
Tom served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, after which he worked for George Michael’s and Sons for 25 years and then Pratt and Whitney. He worked for Barbarino’s for the past 14 years. Tom was known as an avid sports fan and bowler, and especially for his passion for golf, which he played for most of his life.
Tom is survived by his children, Tom Molloy and his wife Ronnie, Rob Molloy and his wife Doris of Wallingford, Chris Molloy of Durham and Carol Hultgren and her husband Carl of Milford; grandchildren, Tom and Erica Molloy of Wallingford; great grandson Lucas Molloy of Wallingford; and his siblings, Helen Kuczynski and her husband Felix, Jim Molloy and his wife Marilyn, Pat Richau and her husband Rick, and Ruth Granfield and her husband Ed. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
