Thomas John Wishart, Sr., 80, of Bristol, beloved husband of Nanette (Barilla) Wishart, died Wednesday (August 8, 2007) peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 10, 1927 in New York City, NY, son of the late Leonard and Inez (Ross) Wishart. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War 2 and had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. A resident of Bristol most of his life, he was employed as a supervisor at E.I.S. Automotive in Middletown for many years until his retirement. He also worked part time at Murray Keiser Dental Lab in Farmington for sixteen years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2 in Bristol. Tom was very dedicated to his family and loved to be surrounded by them. He liked to sit on his front porch and watch life. He also enjoyed singing songs with his brothers. He did crossword puzzles very well and was a great cribbage player, having played on various cribbage leagues in Bristol.
Besides his wife, Nanette, he is survived by his children, Cap, Mark, Michael, Tom, Donna, Ellen, and Susan. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Pat. He is also survived by his brothers, Hazen, Adrian and Edward; twenty grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
