Thomas Jerry Stancil, 70, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born in Rowan County on June 23, 1952, he was the son of the late Margaret Evelyn McCarn and Callie Wilson Stancil, Jr.
Tom was a 1971 graduate of Boyden High School and worked in street maintenance for the City of Salisbury for over 30 years. He was a private person but he had a heart of gold. He was very thoughtful and kind and had a loving soul. Earlier in his life, Tom was a shagger and was good at it. He also enjoyed watching western movies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jake Kimbrell.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Evelyn Kimbrell, Yvonne Smith (Tim), Joyce Shrewsbury (Lucky), Cathy Benge (Earl), Mary Long (Fred), and Alma Stancil (Ray); nephews, Chris Moore, Michael Benge, and Jeff Long; nieces, Amanda Reavis and Tiffany Woodie; great nieces, Madison Long, Calleigh Reavis, and Skylar Reavis; step nieces, Kimberly Shaver and Shari Page.
