Thomas J. Lucas, 72 years, of Virginia, IL and formerly of Elk Grove Village, IL, died Saturday morning, March 3, 2007 at his residence.
He was born April 8, 1934 in Harts Creek, West Virginia; the son of Herless and Dixie Adams Lucas. He married Wanda Zieler on December 12, 1959 in Chicago, IL and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Tommy Lucas (wife, Shelia) of Chapmanville, WV, David Lucas (wife, Mary Ann) of Virginia, IL, Nick Lucas (wife, Debbie) of Oklahoma City, OK; four daughters, Loretta Tackett (husband, Arson) of Harts, WV, Toni-Lee Zanoli of Lynnfield, MA, Lillette Irizarry of Rockford, IL and Kathleen Markocki of Buffalo Grove, IL; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Oscar Lucas (wife, Joyce) of Chapmanville, WV; three sisters, Mae Belcher of Chapmanville, WV, Virginia Vavorek (husband, Richard) of Mineral Point, WI and Virgie Lucas of Chapmanville, WV; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Elmer Lucas, David Lee Lucas, Carmen Lucas and Kermit Lucas.
Mr. Lucas was last employed by Inland Container in Elk Grove Village, IL as a maintenance supervisor prior to his retirement in 2001. He was an avid wood worker and of the christian faith.
