Thomas “Hoot” E. Owens, 85, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia surrounded by his family. He was born October 6, 1932 in Walnut Hill, son of Alva Ely Owens and Laura Lee (Rhynes) Owens.
He married Juanita Owens on June 4, 1963 in Mt. Vernon and she survives him in Centralia.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is also survived by his daughters: Paula Jean Owens of Centralia and Gerri Webb and husband Larry of Centralia, Loretta Hough of Centralia, son: Wayne Bardle and wife Diana of Centralia, brother: Howard Owens and wife Pauline of Sesser, sisters: Rosemary Riechman and husband Jim of Centralia and Clara Edwards of Centralia, grandchildren: Mark Owens, Lisa Owens, Larry Scott, Poppi Hough, Darrell Hough, Rick Bardle, Tim Q. Webb, Rachel Casner, and April Bardle, and great-grandchildren: Lexi Scott, Zack Webb, Devon Schmiedeke, Jacqueline Schmiedeke, Jada Schmiedeke, Ricky Bardle, Kaleb Bardle, Jovon Bardle, Adrienne Bardle, Eddie Hough, Josh Hough.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond and Jimmy Owens, and sister Irma Williams.
