Thomas Hazlette Brayden, Jr. died on January 20, 2021, with his spouse of 69 years, Beverly at his side.

 

Tom, the son of Thomas Hazlette Brayden, Sr. and Adeline “Louise” Noe Brayden, was born in Denver, Colorado on April 26, 1928.  He graduated from South High School and served two years in the U.S. Navy in Long Island, New York.  He returned to Denver and attended the University of Denver where he met Beverly Ann Bauer.

They were married on August 4, 1951.   Tom attended Northwestern University dental school and graduated with a DDS degree.   In 1954, Tom started a general dentistry practice in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.   He practiced until he retired in 1988.   

After retirement, he and Bev traveled extensively, participating in many ElderHostels.  Tom volunteered with Rotary International briefly, practicing dentistry in Jamaica.   Tom greatly enjoyed dogs, cribbage, nature photography, camping and tennis.

Tom and Bev had three children:   Julie (Dennis) Gazdiewich of Casper, Wyoming; Bill (Karen Meyer) of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Bob (Dea Marlin) of Golden, Colorado.  All three children graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and Colorado State University. 

Tom is survived by Beverly, all three children and their spouses, five grandchildren:  Laura (Doug) Amundson, Tom (Karen) Brayden, Rich (Katie) Brayden, Lindsay (Dennis) Ellis and Eric Brayden (Marie Schow).   He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren; Meyer, Taylor, Ryland, Ethan, Emilia, Eli, Bode, Julian and Aaron.
