Thomas G. Peterson, 85, of Holiday City Carefree section of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Denver, Colorado, he lived in Freehold before moving to Berkeley Twp. 20 year ago. Thomas was a Butcher for Shop Rite in Freehold, NJ for many years.
He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Mr. Peterson was a member of the Abundant Life Church of God, Freehold, NJ and was a volunteer at the Ocean County Courthouse, Toms River. Predeceased by his wife Mary Elizabeth in 1999 and his son Thomas Peterson in 2011.
Surviving are his children and their spouses Stephen T. Peterson of Toms River, Janet M. & Ray Carter of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert G. and Kim Peterson of Jackson, NJ, Kathryn & Joseph Zuppardo of Howell, NJ and Barbara Peterson of Eatontown, NJ, a brother Joseph Peterson of New York, a sister Betty Pinching of Colorado, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
