Thomas (Tom) G. Hampton, age 75, of West Lafayette, IN, passed away on August 31, 2021.  Tom was born on March 16, 1946, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Wayne and Maxine (Groth) Hampton.  Tom graduated from Waterford Kettering High School in Waterford, Michigan and held a B.S. and M.S. degree from Purdue University. Tom is a retired employee of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Services, where he worked for 33 years. Tom began his career as a 4-H Educator in Randolph County in 1970.  He moved to Starke County in 1978 and became the County Agricultural Educator.  In 1992 he moved to St. Joseph County and became the County Extension Director.  In 1997 he saw a chance to achieve his goal of becoming a district director and moved to Vincennes, IN.  He was appointed the District Director where he supervised numerous counties located in the Southwest corner of the state.  He retired in 2003 and moved to West Lafayette, IN where he currently lived with his wife.

Tom married his high school sweetheart, Theresa (Reynolds) on June 25, 1966.  Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, playing games, reading, and spending time with his family.  Most recently he’s enjoyed cheering on his 5 grandsons in their various sports.  Tom was a member of the Linden Conservation Club, the NACAA, and was active with Purdue Extension retirees.

Tom is survived by his wife, Theresa, son, Ken (Cassi) of Westfield, IN, daughter, Ann of West Lafayette, IN, and son, John (Leslie) of North Judson, IN; brother, Jerry of Redlands, CA and sister Kathy (Neil) Herzberger of Redlands, CA, and five grandsons Trey, Tanner, Quinn, Teagen, and Greyson Hampton.  Tom had many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in -laws that he loved very much.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne, and Maxine Hampton.
