Thomas E. “Tom” Felton, 58, of Ord passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at home.
Thomas Eugene was born Nov. 7, 1959, at Red Cloud to Jack Eugene and Ladonna Belle (Chisholm) Felton. He was raised in Red Cloud, where he received his education and graduated in 1978. Tom continued his education at Kearney State College and then Hastings Tech.
While living in Hastings, Tom worked at the Hastings Regional Center in the food service department. For three years he resided in Grand Island and worked as Chef’s Assistant at Pelican Bay. He returned to Red Cloud and worked at Ron Rasser Farms.
In 1985, Tom moved to Ord to farm with his brother, John. On Sept. 19, 1992, Tom was united in marriage to Lynda Sue Rice at Estes Park, Colo. The couple made their home in Ord. Tom continued to farm until 2017, when his health caused him to retire.
Tom served on the FSA Board from 2009-2016. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding ATV/UTVs. He was a fan of Huskers and Bears football and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed his granddaughters and vacationing. Tom had a special love for his dogs, Coco, Lennon, Jett, Bella, Willie and Remmy.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda of Ord; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jordan and Kryssiah Felton and Jason Felton, all of Ord; his daughter, Hailey Felton of Kearney; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Becky Felton of Ord and Don and Jean Felton of Lincoln; a sister, Connie Jo Felton and her fiancé, Richard Kuil, both of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Leah and Quinnley Felton; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Andrew Felton.
