Thomas F. Fifer, 78, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 12:33 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2005, in Memorial Hospital. Thomas was born on June 20, 1927, in Milwaukee, WI, to Kenneth and Catherine (Costigan) Fifer. He retired from the OBrien Paint Corporation, where he was employed for 43 years. Survivors include his wife, Margaret C. (Nowak) Fifer; one daughter, Donna M. (Brent) Hemmerlein of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Karen Hemmerlein and Jeff (Jamie) Hemmerlein; one brother, John Kenney Fifer of Mishawaka, IN; and by many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his sister, Catherine Floran.
