Mr. Cockrell died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, in a Temple hospital. Mr. Cockrell was born August 6, 1933 near Killeen in Bell County, the son of Chester and Charlcie (Elms) Cockrell. He attended Killeen High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Cockrell worked in concrete construction most of his life for George Wilhite and GMH Construction. Mr. Cockrell was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Marvin Cockrell, Mike Cockrell and Charles Cockrell. Survivors include two sisters WillElla Boyd of Belton and Sarah Bowlden of Rockwall and one brother S. R. Cockrell of Walberg.
