Thomas Elijah Cobb passed away at home surrounded by family and loved ones on January 13, 2017, at the age of 84. He was born in Roanoke, Alabama October 20, 1932.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife 60 years, Dorothy Welch Cobb.
He is survived by his two sons and (daughters), Andrew Jay Cobb (Sandra) and Paul Lee Cobb (Lynn); nine grandchildren, Heather (Andrew) Johnson, Tressie (Jonathan) Norrell, Olivia Cobb, Caitlyn Cobb, Laura Elizabeth Cobb, Anna Isabelle (Parker) Judy, Lydia Campbell (Byron) Medley, Thomas Elijah Cobb, and Brandon (Nicole) Goldman; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lea Pound and Betty Jo Brown; a number of nieces and nephews; two very special friends, Inez Gates and Linda Reed.
At the young age of 18 Thomas entered the United States Air Force and served 4 years. He retired from Moody Air Force Base Fire Department after 32 years. Mr. Cobb was an avid fisherman and skilled carpenter. He was a member of Hahira Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He used his many gifts and talents to serve his family and the body of Christ. He enjoyed participating in many building projects with Carpenters for Christ. Mr. Cobb invested in the lives of many young men in his community by coaching baseball. Mr. Cobb called Valdosta and Hahira Georgia his home for many years before moving to Lake Harding and then he was a resident of Eclectic, Alabama for 9 years.
