Thomas Edward Wilson, 79, passed away on October 22, 2020 in    Columbus, Ohio. Thomas was born on January 16, 1941 in       Charleston, West Virginia to the late Charlie Wilson and Edith Lay. 

 

After graduating from East High School in Columbus, Ohio Thomas was drafted into The United States Army where he served our country in the Vietnam War for 4 years before being honorably discharged. Upon leaving the Army, Thomas traveled and lived throughout the United States. He lived in Oakland, California, where he became a staunch Raiders fan, moved to Hawaii, and even lived in the most northern state of the US, Alaska.

 

After settling in Columbus, Thomas worked and retired from           Columbus Public Schools, and continued to play a role in the         community by being a member of both The Men in Black and Friends from the Hood. Thomas was a lifelong traveler, loved to fish, studied the ancient practice of Tai Chi, was an avid sports fan, and hands down one of the most fashionable people you’ve ever met. 

 

Thomas was proceeded in death by his parents Charles Wilson and Edith E. Lay and his brother Alvin T. Wilson (Rachel).

 

He is survived by First Cousin William Lay (Alice); Nephew and Nieces Alvin J. Wilson (Rebecca), Brian K. Wilson (Gloria), Sherri L. Wilson and Christopher T. Wilson Sr.; Great Nephews Jody,        Christopher and Thomas; Great Nieces Jayde, Savannah, Cierra, Janeen and Paige and a host of other family members and friends.
