At age 62, Thomas Edward Morris passed away peacefully on the morning of May 14th, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Morris, his son Christopher and wife Natalie, his son Daniel and girlfriend Anya, his daughter Rebecca and husband Andrew, his two grandsons, Brian and Noah, his sister, Maggie Morris, his brother Robert Morris and wife Libby. Preceded in death by Robert and Jean Morris, his Parents, and brother Scott.

Sandi and Tommy, unbeknownst to each other, spent five years at the same high school before actually meeting. Sandi was the cute girl with the car – and Tommy [conveniently] needed rides home (and the cute girl part wasn’t bad either). They tied the knot two years later.

Before his successful 30-year career as a Logistics Manager with General Motors, Tom Morris spent his teen years running sound checks for classic rock bands around the south. He also swam for Columbia High School and played trombone on the marching band. When he wasn’t in the water, Tom spent time outdoors with the Boy Scouts. His love for the outdoors carried into his later years, where he would spend weekends at the cabin on Lake Lanier fishing with his kids and nephews. Tommy never missed an opportunity to dive head-first into a good old-fashioned crossword puzzle. On Sundays, you would find him nowhere else but in a comfy seat, fully engaged in the NASCAR experience.

Tommy even had the opportunity to meet one of his lifetime racings idols, Dale Earnhardt Sr., and rode shotgun with one of the drivers at the Atlanta Motor Speedway (a birthday present he would claim as his all-time favorite). Tommy was known for his signature wit – a matter-of-fact outlook on life that kept him in good spirits.
