Tommy Edward Curtis, 82, passed away Wednesday March 4, 2015 in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Martinsville. Tommy was born August 27, 1932 in Martinsville, Morgan County to Hobart and Fern (Daggy) Curtis.

He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1950. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952. He served a four year term, during in the Korean War. Upon his return to Indiana, he began working at Allison Engineering. He retired after 41 years of service. He married Dorothy A. Durbin Curtis on Dec. 10, 1982; they were married for 32 years. In his retirement, he spent his best years being grandpa and great-grandpa.

He loved going to auctions and spending time his grandchildren.Tommy was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1257 in Martinsville, American Legion Post #230 and the U.A.W.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Curtis of Martinsville, four children, Traci (Wade) Martin and Michael Lyle both of Martinsville, William (Jamie) Lyle of Morgantown and Christina Boston of Tennessee, two sisters, Eileen (Jack) Bright of Virginia and Margaret (Andy) Anderson of Martinsville, sixteen grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, and Jordan Curtis, Jessica, Ethan and Addison Martin, Angelina, Madison, and Rachel Lyle, Zoe and Gage Muse, Michael, Lillian and Summer Lyle, Quinton and Katelyn Boston and three great-grandchildren, Ella Curtis, Alex and Micah Curtis and his best friend and nephew, Michael Duncan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Gary Curtis, brother, Freddy Curtis and sister, Emma Ruth Roembke.
