Thomas “Tommy” Earl Martin, 84, of Mount Hope, Alabama passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, AL.
Born on September 27, 1938 to Bennett and Virginia Roberson Martin, Tommy was a poultry and cattle farmer for many years. Tommy worked 23 years for Ford Motor Company in Sheffield, Alabama until he retired in 1983. Tommy served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Alabama Cattleman’s Association along with the Beefmaster Breeders United. Tommy was an avid Alabama fan.
Survivors include his spouse of 61 years, Wonnie; children, Kevin Martin, of Mount Hope, Steve (Malissa) Martin; Daughter-in-law, Sindy Martin; grandchildren, Misty Martin, Mandy (Timmy) Blankenship, Caitlin (Timothy) Jones, Braden (Gracie) Martin; great-grandchildren, Jase Blankenship, Madilyn Blankenship; sisters, Becky Posey, Kay (Gary) Orrick; brothers, Keith Martin, Jeff Martin; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Tommy is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Robinson; father, Bennett Martin; son, Brex Martin; brother, Larry Martin; brother, Donnie Martin; brother-in-law, Mac Posey.
