Thomas E. Tom THE CULLIGAN MAN Smith, 67, of Vincennes, passed away Friday morning unexpectedly. He was born September 4, 1947, in Lebanon, IN the son of Don and Mary Louise Witt Smith.

He was a graduate of Lebanon H.S. and after graduation, he was elected to serve his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force having attained the rank of Sgt. After his service, he graduated from Earlham College in 1985. He married Cynthia Cindy Gott and they made their life together for 20 years. He was a life member of VFW Post 910 in Lebanon, IN, he was an avid golfer, NASCAR fan, and devout Notre Dame Football Fan. He owned and operated the Culligan franchise for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Smith, and their children, Jill Kerr of Chattanooga, TN, Jen Textor, and her husband Bryan of Dyer, IN, Jeff Smith, and his wife Tina of Surprise, AZ, Jama Netherton, and her husband Jacob of Crown Point, IN, Daniel Haney, and his wife Mallory of Monroe City, IN and Heather Thomas, and her husband Ryan of Martinsville, IN. His beloved grandchildren, Charity Smith, Rushton Smith, Caleb Smith, Gwendolynn Smith, Broghan Smith, Annabelle Smith, Sophia Textor, Piper Textor, Maxwell Textor, Isaac Netherton, Deacon Netherton, Israel Netherton, Christopher Kerr, Nina Kerr, Blake Thomas, and Gannon Haney. His sisters, Linda Collier of Paris, TN, Donna Robertson, and her husband Ron of Lebanon IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Tom Collier.
